Hi BMW-Fans!
Description:
Let me start with this, I drive
bmw cars since I got my license in 1994. My first one was a 320i e30 1984 which I still have fully
restored (keep this one also to make it an oldtimer) but I planned to
buy a e21 323i since 1997. A few years ago in 2000 I let one slip
trough my fingers and regereted it since than. I told myself that if I
got a second chance I would go for it. Finally in may 2004 I found
myself this e21 323i build march 1982 in a fairly good condition.
- The car is polaris silver
- It has power steering
- There is a sunroof
- It has 13inch bmw alu rims
- There are fog lights in front
- It has a 5 sp gearbox (overdrive)
Modifications and tuning:
None yet but I plan to restore it
completely stock. I just want to add an original sport steering wheel
(If I find one) and maylbe sport shocks and springs to lower it a
little bit (Just for optical point of view).
The first step was to give the
engine a complete check. This is done since October 2004.
The only parts whe had to change beside the normal adjustments,
filters, liquids and timing belt were the cold start injector (it was
dead) and the carter seal (I had an oil leak there.) The only thing
left to end step 1 is to steam the engine off so it looks like new on
the outside as well.
Step 2 is to take a closer look at
the gearbox (difficult shifting when cold) and the diff (I plan to
change the 3.45 by a 3.64) but this will all have to wait until spring
2005. I hope to have it running again in 2007 when it becomes 25
(oldtimer)
History:
This is an original Belgian 323i
that has been in the same family until I bought it in may 2004.
It has now 139000 km on the counter.

filters,
liquids and timing belt were the cold start injector (it was dead) and
the
carter seal (I had an oil leak there.)

Bodywork....or rebuilding the head with new valve seals (little blue
smoke) and
a 272° or 276° cam (haven't made up my mind yet)
I hope to have it running again in 2007 when it becomes 25 (oldtimer)
It has now 139.655 km on the counter.

Hello
The body of the e21 has been restored completely last winter and the
engine also has been overhauled.
Body resto: Welding was done at both wheel arches ... under both front
fenders ... under window rubber ... etc. 2 new fenders where
placed as a new radiator.
Engine overhaul: head is sanded and addepted to non leaded fuel ... new
parts used ... valve seals, valves, rockers, rockerarms, valvesprings.
Thermostat + waterpump + visco are renewed.
New BBS 15" wheels are fitted also.
Regards
Gerrit
